A: The Spark Plug wires should be checked at recommended intervals and whenever new plugs are installed in the engine. Inspect one wire at a time to prevent, which is crucial for proper engine operation. To disconnect the plug wire from one spark plug, grab the rubber boot, twist slightly and pull the wire free. When checking inside the boot for corrosion, it will look like a white powdery crust. Then, push the wire and boot back onto the end of the spark plug. It should fit tightly on the plug. If not, remove the wire and take a pair of pliers to carefully crimp down on the metal connector inside of the boot until it fits snugly over top of that plug's end. Use a clean rag to wipe down the entire length of the wire to get rid of dirt and grease build-up. With clean wires, look for holes or burns in addition to cracks or other damage. However don't bend it too much as you might break off conductor inside. Remove it by pulling only on the rubber boot from Distributor Cap. The spark plug end can be checked for corrosion and tight fit also in this manner. Now attach again this wire to distributor cap again.Shut off vehicle ignition before attempting further inspection regarding other spark plug wires then ensure that they are properly fastened at both distributor and spark plugs when through with your checks.Don't forget to purchase new ones if you need new wires for your car engine model.Wire sets are available pre-cut with boots already attached.Avoid re-arranging them when replacing one at a time so as not to mix up firing order.The way wires route is very important; make sure you notice how each individual cable is placed before taking them out.
