- Q: How do you replace the front and rear bumper covers on Chevrolet Tracker?A: To replace the front bumper cover, first apply the parking brake, raise the vehicle, and support it securely on jackstands. Remove the parking light screws, then take out the bolts and screws securing the bottom and sides of the bumper cover, including those in the wheelwell. Detach the cover and remove it from the vehicle, ensuring that installation is done in reverse order, with the tabs on the back of the bumper cover fitting into the corresponding clips on the body before attaching the bolts and screws, ideally with the help of an assistant. For the rear bumper cover, open the tailgate and detach the clips or screws securing the upper edge, as well as those at the front edges in the wheel wells and along the bottom. Working under the vehicle, remove the screws securing the lower edge of the bumper cover, then pull it out and away from the vehicle; on some models, it may be necessary to remove screws attaching the carpet sill to facilitate this. Installation follows the reverse process. To detach the bumper, first remove the bumper cover if equipped, then disconnect the turn signal electrical connectors located under the hood near each headlight assembly on earlier models. Support the bumper with a jack or have an assistant hold it while removing the bolts, then take out the retaining bolts located under the wheelwells and detach the bumper. Reinstallation is done in reverse order, ensuring that the retaining bolts are tightened securely, followed by the installation of the bumper cover and any other components that were removed.
