Q: How to adjust brake pedal height and free play?
A: Brake pedal height is the distance of the pedal from the floor. Loosen the locknut on the brake light switch at the back or toward the rear of the brake pedal and either turn it inwards or outwards to adjust the pedal height. Retighten it thereafter. The free play in a brake pedal is its slack, or how far it can be pressed down before engaging it with brakes. Measuring between where you meet resistance and where your foot naturally rests gives brake pedal free play. It should conform to specifications. If not, loosen a locknut on a braking booster input rod connected to the brake pedal and rotate that rod until free play corresponds to that in a manual of instructions, then tighten again.
