How do you remove and install the lock cylinder on Chevrolet Nova?

To work on the 1969 or the 1970 models, start by opening the trunk, and take out the lock cylinder retainer screw(s). Then pull the retainer down, or away from the lock cylinder and remove the cylinder out of the body. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure. The process is again the same but the retainer may be held by stud nuts or rivets for 1971 and later models. When drilling out rivets, use a 1/8 inch drill bit and do not try to increase the size of the rivet hole; for replacement use a 1/8 X 5/16 inch 'pop' rivet.
