- Q: How to remove and reinstall the intake manifold and associated components in V6 engine on Chevrolet Monte Carlo?A: Release fuel system pressure, then remove the connection of the cable to the negative terminal, and flush the cooling system. Pull off the engine cover by pulling its upper left and right handles and unscrew both PCV tubes and brake booster vacuum hose. Pull the heater hoses and tubes free and remove them, and also remove the wiring to the MAP sensor as well as the wiring connector to the throttle control. The air inlet duct of the throttle body must be pulled off, the front spark plug wiring disconnected, the throttle body and the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve pulled off. Remove the MAP sensor with the bracket and the coil bracket from the intake manifold using the bolts and then, hear the engine cover ball stud is removed from the intake manifold stud. Begin with loosening the upper intake manifold bolts in a sequence from the outside, this will then be followed by removing the upper intake manifold with the throttle body connected to it. Lastly turn on the ignition, replace the oil filter, add more oil in the cooler, and make sure that no fluids is dripping on the ground.
