Chevrolet Monte Carlo Heater Core

Heater Core is vital in Chevrolet Monte Carlo models because it is responsible for warming the cab with the help of the engine heat. Similar to that of a mini-radiator, the core is cooled with a combination of water and antifreeze with hot coolant from the engine being passed through the core to heat the car interiors. Some heater cores may have a valve or door to regulate the temperatures wherein the more complicated heaters come with electromechanical actuators for the same purpose. In the conditioned vehicles the heater core also helps in dehumidifying, for instance in reheating the cooled air. Heater cores block often, leak or corrode and this requires dismantling of the dashboard for the process to be done.

Each OEM Chevrolet Monte Carlo Heater Core we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Chevrolet Monte Carlo Heater Core Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How do you remove the heater core?
A: To remove the heater core, start by disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal and draining the cooling system. If the coolant is still in good condition, it can be saved and reused. Then, disconnect the heater hoses from the heater core fittings at the firewall. Remove the insulating panels below each side of the dash, as well as the front seats, kick plate trim panels, and center console. Peel back the front carpet to access the air duct beneath the center console and detach the floor air duct leading to the rear. Remove the screws and heat stakes holding the outer and inner heater core covers in place, using a small chisel or screwdriver. Finally, remove the heater core from the housing, placing rags underneath to catch any spilled coolant. To install the heater core, simply reverse the removal steps, ensuring to reconnect the heater hoses at the firewall. Refill the cooling system and reconnect the battery.
