Chevrolet HHR Steering Knuckle

The Steering Knuckle of Chevrolet HHR vehicles is a component that connects the suspension, and the steering system to the front wheels in such a way that experiences an up/down and side to side movement depending on the road and the steering commands. Some of the steering knuckles are configured in different ways, this depends on the RWD/FWD or RWD/AWD status of the car. Rear-wheel drive vehicles are recommended to have the spindle combined with the knuckle, while front and all-wheel drive vehicles have the drive axle passing through the knuckle, pinned onto a hub. Steering knuckles have changed with time from kingpins to modern types and nowadays; knuckles normally are only replaced when they have been worn out resulting from an impact or the wearing of the bushings or bearings.

Each OEM Chevrolet HHR Steering Knuckle we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Chevrolet HHR Steering Knuckle Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How do I remove the Steering Knuckle?
A: To remove the driveaxle/hub, start by loosening the driveaxle/hub nut and the wheel lug nuts. Then, raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Remove the wheel and the brake caliper with its bracket, supporting them with a piece of wire. Take off the brake disc from the hub and unplug the wheel speed sensor electrical connector if the vehicle has ABS. Mark the strut to the steering knuckle and loosen the strut-to-steering knuckle bolt nuts. Separate the tie-rod end from the steering knuckle arm and remove the balljoint-to-steering knuckle pinch bolt, separating the balljoint from the steering knuckle. Remove the driveaxle/hub nut and push the driveaxle from the hub, supporting the end with a piece of wire. Finally, remove the strut-to-knuckle bolts and carefully separate the steering knuckle from the strut. To install, guide the knuckle and hub assembly into position, inserting the driveaxle into the hub. Push the knuckle into the strut flange and install the bolts and nuts without tightening them yet. Connect the balljoint to the knuckle and tighten the pinch bolt nut to the proper torque specifications. Attach the tie-rod end to the steering knuckle arm and tighten the strut bolts/nuts and the tie-rod end nut to the proper torque values. Place the brake disc on the hub and install the caliper mounting bracket and caliper. Install the driveaxle/hub nut and tighten it securely. Then, install the wheel and lug nuts. Lower the vehicle and tighten the lug nuts and the driveaxle/hub nut to the suitable torque specifications. Finally, have the front-end alignment checked and adjusted if necessary.
