A: To remove the throttle cable, start by removing the air intake duct and engine cover. Then, use needle-nose pliers to squeeze the locking tangs of the cable together and disengage it from the cable bracket. Next, disconnect the cable end from the throttle cam and trace it to the firewall, detaching it from any clamps, clips, or brackets along the way. Underneath the dash, disconnect the cable from the accelerator pedal. Finally, disengage the cable from its hole in the firewall and pull it through into the engine compartment. To reinstall, simply reverse the removal steps.
