A: Remove the Fuel Tank and the fuel pump/ fuel level sensor. Disconnect the fuel level sensor electrical connector from the fuel pump/fuel level sensor cover. On 2011 and later models, remove the fuel level sensor unit from the fuel pump module. Installation is the reverse of removal.
Q: How do you remove the fuel pump/fuel level sending unit module?
A: To remove the fuel pump/fuel level sensor, start by relieving the fuel system pressure and disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal. Then, raise the vehicle and secure it on jackstands before removing the Fuel Tank. Clean the area around the fuel pump/fuel level sensor to prevent dirt from entering the tank. Disconnect the electrical connectors and fuel lines from the unit and unscrew the lockring using pliers.
