Q: How to remove and install Window regulators in Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain?
A: For 2009 and earlier models,Wear gloves when working inside the door openings to protect against cuts from sharp metal edges. First, remove the window glass. On front doors, disconnect the electrical connector for the outside mirror. Remove the exterior trim on the side(s) and the bottom of the window opening, as applicable. Remove the rear guide channel fasteners and pull the channel out of the window opening and secure it aside. Be careful not to damage the rubber portion of the channel near the top of the window opening. Remove the front and rear guide channels and the door speakers, if necessary. Disconnect the electrical connectors for the outside mirror, window regulator motor and door lock switch, then move the wiring harness away from the Window Regulator. Remove the latch mounting screws. Loosen the screw for the outside handle frame. Detach the wiring harness fasteners from the Window Regulator. Loosen the two rear Window Regulator mounting fasteners, then remove the others. Carefully guide the Window Regulator out from the door along with the door latch and outside handle frame. Detach the wiring harness and any other electrical connectors as the Window Regulator is being removed. Installation is the reverse of removal. Lubricate the rollers and wear points on the Window Regulator with white grease before installation. 2010 and later models: Remove the door trim panel. Remove the water shield and remove the window glass. Lower the window regulator mechanism until it is three quarters of the way down. Remove the Window Regulator mounting bolts, then remove the Window Regulator from inside the door through the large opening and disconnect the electrical connectors.
