A: To remove the steering wheel, start by turning the wheels straight ahead and disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery. Wait for the airbag system to lose power. Locate the holes on the back of the steering wheel and insert small blunt tools to release the airbag module on both sides. Lift the airbag module off the steering wheel and disconnect the electrical connectors. Mark the relationship of the steering shaft to the hub for easier installation. To install the steering wheel, ensure the front wheels are facing straight ahead. Turn the clock spring hub counterclockwise until it becomes harder to turn, then rotate it clockwise and count the turns. Rotate it back to half that number of turns to center it. Install the clock spring, align the marks on the hub and shaft, and tighten the nut. Plug in the electrical connectors and install the airbag module securely. Finally, reconnect the negative battery cable.
