Q: How do I remove and install a Steering Knuckle?
A: To remove the driveaxle/hub assembly, start by loosening the driveaxle/hub nut and also for the wheel lug nuts. Then lift up vehicle and support it well on jackstands. Take off the wheel and put a mark on position of strut to steering knuckle. Loosen but do not remove bolts for strut to steering knuckles. Remove Tie Rod End from steering knuckle arm and if necessary, take out hub and bearing assembly from knuckle. Remove Ball Joint from steering knuckle, press driveaxle from hub with wire supporting it at end and finally separate strut from steering knuckle. For installation of drive axle/hub assembly guide the knuckle and hub assembly into position thereby inserting driveaxle into hub. Push down the knuckle into strut flange while fitting bolts and nuts, without tightening them yet.Connect balljoint to the steering knuckle then tighten its nut until specified torque is reached.Connect tie-rod end to the steering knuckle arm then firmly tighten strut bolt nuts as well as balljoint-to-control arm bolt/nuts, tie-rod nut in addition to cotter pins.Replace all broken cotter pins.Place brake disc on hub, install caliper plus wheel speed sensor.Install another new Drive Axle/Hub Nut tightening securely.Put back wheel plus lug nuts; lower vehicle upon which tighten lug nuts according to specified torque.Use appropriate wrench to finally tighten Drive Axle/Hub Nut specifically to referred torsion value.
