How to remove the Compressor?

To remove the air conditioning system, start by discharging and recovering the refrigerant. Then, disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal and remove the drivebelt. Next, set the parking brake, block the rear wheels, and raise the front of the vehicle on jackstands. Disconnect the compressor clutch electrical connector and remove the bolt for the line fitting, discarding the seals and sealing all open connections. Finally, remove the compressor mounting bolts, noting the position of the mounting spacer, and remove the compressor. For installation, transfer the clutch from the old compressor to the new unit if necessary. Adjust the oil level according to the directions supplied with the new or rebuilt compressor. Install the compressor using new seals for the hose fitting. Reconnect the battery and have the system evacuated, recharged, and leak-tested by a professional shop.
