Wear gloves when working inside the door openings to protect against cuts from sharp metal edges. Begin by removing the door trim panel and the plastic water shield. Tape the glass in the Up position, and for power window models, remove the key from the ignition switch. Disconnect the electrical connector from the window regulator motor. The regulator assembly consists of a front and rear section connected by cable; remove the appropriate fasteners and loosen the others, including the regulator-to-window glass bolts, and take out the bolts for the rear middle and front sections of the regulator. Carefully remove the window regulator assembly from the door, ensuring not to kink the cables connecting the two sections. Lubricate the rollers and wear points on the regulator with white grease before installation, which follows the reverse order of removal. For the rear, repeat the process by removing the door trim panel and plastic water shield, raising the glass and taping it in the Up position, loosening the glass-to-regulator bolts, removing the key from the ignition switch, and disconnecting the electrical connector from the window regulator motor. Loosen the four regulator/motor assembly mounting bolts, move the regulator to clear the slots in the door, and then remove the window regulator assembly. Lubricate the rollers and wear points on the regulator with white grease before installation, which also follows the reverse order of removal.
