Q: How to remove and install the EVAP canister and purge valve for Chevrolet Corvette?
A: Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Open the fuel filler cap to relieve any pressure in the tank. Remove the engine cover. Disconnect the electrical connector from the canister purge valve. Disconnect the EVAP line quick-connect fitting. On all models except 6.2L (LS9) engines, depress the retaining clip on the backside of the purge valve and slide the canister purge valve up and off of the bracket. On 6.2L (LS9) engines, remove the canister purge solenoid valve mounting bolt and remove the valve from the manifold. Installation is the reverse of removal. Raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Remove the right fuel tank. During the fuel tank removal, disconnect the vapor hose quick-connect fitting from the EVAP canister vent solenoid and the two EVAP line quick-connect fittings from the EVAP canister. Unscrew the mounting bolts and detach the canister from the floorpan. Installation is the reverse of removal. Raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. 2007 and earlier models with an automatic transmission: Disconnect the right-side muffler from the exhaust pipe, then lower the muffler. Disconnect the canister vent solenoid valve electrical connector. Disconnect the vent valve hose from the valve. Use a small screwdriver to depress the retaining clip on the backside of the vent solenoid valve and slide the valve off of the bracket. Installation is the reverse of removal.
