Chevrolet Corvette Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor

The Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor in Chevrolet Corvette vehicles helps to control the temperature of the air it pulls in so that combustion or burning of the fuel mix can be well done to achieve optimal performance. This information is sent to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) that well times the fuel injector to give a suitable mixture of air and fuel in all states of operation. Various Intake Manifold Temperature Sensors have probably been used in Corvettes at some point in time with some being known as Mass Air Flow (MAF) and others being the Velocity Air Flow (VAF) Intake Air Temperature Sensors. Again the main difference between these types is the measurement method and the calibration which may have impacts on the performance when; changes are made to the air intake system. Some of the problems that may arise with a faulty sensor include a stalling of the vehicle or an incorrect air to fuel ratio which can be corrected by ensuring the physical integrity of the air intake system.

Each OEM Chevrolet Corvette Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Chevrolet Corvette Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the IAT sensor on the 6.2L LS9 engine on Chevrolet Corvette?
A: The Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor is on the right side of the air charge cooler cover towards the front. First, remove cable from the negative battery terminal. Then, take off the engine cover. Next, disconnect electrical connector from Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor on the right side of charge air cooler cover. Then, disconnect electrical connector from Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor. Then unscrew sensor from charge air cooler cover. The sensor should be installed and torqued down. Finally, finish installation by reversing the procedure used to remove it.
  • Q: How to disconnect and install the MAF/IAT sensor on Chevrolet Corvette?
A: For 5.7L (LS1 and LS6) and 6.0L (LS2) engines, remove the electrical connector from the MAF/IMT sensor. Break loose the clamps on the intake air ducts and those of MAF sensors-to-air filter housings. The intake air duct is separated from the throttle body as well as MAF/IMT sensor, after which the latter is removed from air filter housing. Reinstall everything as it was during disassembly. Tighten them firmly. It should also be noted that on supercharged 6.2L (LS9) engines, the Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor is a separate sensor mounted on the charge air cooler; while for other models, the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor is located on the side of the intake air duct portion of the air filter housing. Remove electrical connector to MAF/IMT sensor. Remove fasteners by unscrewing them, then detach this device from your car's air intake duct. Reinstallation follows removal steps in reverse.
