How do you remove and install the steering column on Chevrolet Camaro?

To take out the steering column, ensure that the wheels of the car are perfectly aligned and switched off the battery and cut off the negative cable. Thirdly you need to unbolt the steering wheel and then lay the airbag clockspring on the seat and use electrical tapeto immobilize the clockspring. Next remove the knee bolster trim panel and knee bolster and then the intermediate shaft upper bolt to separate the steering shaft from the steering column. Remove the electrical connectors of the multi-function switch and then the fasteners of the steering column. Pull down the column and move it to the back side and make certain that there is no connection with it before removing it. For installation, position the steering column as directed and align the joint of the U-joint with the bottom of the steering shaft; then insert all the mounting bolts and tighten them to proper tensions. Secure the U-joint to the intermediate shaft and place new intermediate shaft bolt and tighten it to the prescribed torque. The rest of the installation procedure is the reverse of the dismantling process with some differences.
