Remove the bolts holding the stator to the rear end frame and detach the stator. Remove the nuts attaching the diode trio to the rectifier bridge and remove the trio. Remove the screws attaching the resistor, Voltage Regulator, and brush holder to the end frame, and detach the brush holder. Remove the brushes from the brush holder by slipping off the brush retainer and remove the springs. To reinstall, start by installing the brushes in the brush holder, starting with the brush closest to the end frame. Use a paper clip to hold the brushes in place while completing reassembly. The paper clip should not be removed until the end frames are bolted together.
