For 2WD models, the removal process of the shock absorber involves removing the upper shock mounting nut using a backup wrench, followed by removing the retainer and grommet. The vehicle is then raised onto jack stands, and the lower end of the shock absorber is detached by removing two mounting bolts along with the shock absorber.

How do you remove the rear shock absorber?

Raise the rear of the vehicle and support securely on jack stands and block the front wheels so the vehicle doesn't roll off. Remove the shock absorber upper mounting bolts from the frame. Remove the lower mounting nut, washer, and bolt from the anchor plate bracket. Remove the shock absorber. Installation is the reverse of removal.
