This includes the Pitman arm, idler arm, relay rod, tie-rods, and steering damper. The idler arm should also be checked for excessive play, with a measurement greater than 1/4-inch indicating the need for replacement. Additionally, torn ball stud boots, frozen joints, and bent or damaged linkage components should be inspected.
