Chevrolet Blazer Heater Core

The Chevrolet Blazer Heater Core is part of the climatic control system of the car and functions in the same way as a radiator to pass heat from the circulation of the coolant to heat the enclosed compartment. Larger and made from aluminum or brass with fins to increase the surface area the core is cooled through a stream of water and anti-freeze near the engine. As for the components, temperature regulation might be provided with valves, doors, electromechanical actuators, and thermistors into the advanced models of the system. The heater core also plays a role of dehumidifier in air-conditioned vehicles since it help in reheating the cooled air. Problems, which are associated with its improper functioning as well as with the breakdowns, are clogging, leakage, and corrosion; and the replacement involves significant disassembly of the dashboard.

Each OEM Chevrolet Blazer Heater Core we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Chevrolet Blazer Heater Core Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How do you remove the heater core on Chevrolet Blazer?
A: To remove the heater core in a 1997 and earlier model, start by disconnecting the battery cable at the negative terminal and draining the cooling system. Then, disconnect the heater hoses at the engine side of the firewall and plug the open fittings. The heater core housing is located behind the dash, with the rear cover housing needing to be removed to access the heater core. Begin by removing the lower dash panels and the pivot bracket bolts under the dash. Lower the steering column and remove the bolt on the bottom right of the dash. Pry up the speaker grilles and defroster outlet grille to access hidden bolts. Once all fasteners are removed, pivot the dash rearward to access any cables that need to be disconnected. Disconnect the main electrical harness plug on the right side of the dash and remove the entire dashboard assembly. With the cover for the heater core exposed, remove the pencil brace and the screws holding the cover to the housing. Remove the straps and bracket, then carefully pull out the heater core. For a 1998 and later model, the entire heating/ventilation module must be removed from the firewall. Disconnect all electrical and vacuum connectors, remove the blower motor resistor, and reach through the resistor hole to remove the engine-side bolt securing the module. Inside the vehicle, remove the mounting nuts and bolts, then pull out the module. To remove the heater core, remove the screws on top of the module, remove the cover, and slide out the heater core. Installation is the reverse of removal, making sure to refill the cooling system and check for leaks and proper operation of the heating system.
