Chevrolet Beretta Trunk Latch Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How do you remove and reinstall a Trunk Latch and striker on Chevrolet Beretta?
A: Disconnect the negative cable from the battery and place it out of the way to prevent accidental contact with the negative terminal, which would restore power to the vehicle's electrical system. For models equipped with a trunk lock cylinder, disconnect the cable by using a small screwdriver to hold the release tab down and then pull the cable out of the solenoid. If applicable, remove the electronic solenoid, unbolt and take out the latch, and also remove the ajar switch if present. Next, take off the retaining nut and lift off the striker, ensuring to remove any retaining bolts. Installation follows the reverse order of removal.
