Q: How do you remove and install the power antenna assembly in Cadillac DeVille and DTS?
A: For early models Power antenna assembly,Using a pair of snap-ring pliers or an antenna tool, remove the antenna base retaining nut. An antenna removal tool is available at most auto parts stores. Apply tape to the body around the antenna to ensure the paint isn't scratched, then remove the antenna base nut. This tool won't slip off and possibly scratch the body, like pliers or other tools. Working in the trunk, pry out the plastic clips securing the passenger side trunk finishing panels to allow access to the antenna motor. Detach the motor/base assembly retaining bolt(s). Disconnect the antenna lead and the electrical connector (if equipped) and remove the antenna motor/base assembly from the vehicle. Remove the antenna cable, disconnect the electrical connector at the antenna relay, and remove the bolts securing the antenna assembly (early model). Installation is the reverse of removal. LATER MODELS AM/FM module: Later models are equipped with an AM/FM antenna module mounted to the roof inside the vehicle on rear left side. Remove the rear seat. Remove the assist handle and left side rear seat belt retractor. Detach the cover and remove the seat belt retractor bolt and nut. Remove the left side assist handle. Detach the left side quarter trim panel and headliner for access to the antenna module. Carefully pry the left side quarter trim panel out, then lower the rear of the headliner for access to the antenna module. Disconnect the antenna cables, remove the bolt and detach the antenna module from the vehicle. Disconnect the electrical connectors, remove the retaining bolt and lower the antenna module. Installation is the reverse of removal.
