Before fitting the new boot make sure to cover the threads and serrations at the end of the steering rod with tapes so as to avoid damaging the small end of the new boot. Insert the new boot into its place on the rack and pinion so that it locates to the groove on the steering rod, then put new clamps. Take out the tape then place back the tie-rod end and finally the wheel together with the lugs nuts. Last, lower the vehicle and using a star pattern and torque wrench tighten the lug nuts to the required magnitude.
