Buick Regal Throttle Position Sensor

A vital component in the Buick Regal model is the Throttle Position Sensor also referred to as TPS, which is responsible for controlling the air-fuel mixture for proper combustion. The TPS helps to display signals of the necessary changes in the throttle position to the fuel injection system so that the engine computer will be able to control fuel rate depending on the power needed. There are several feedback loops that happens every second in a car to allow for easy acceleration, cruising, and deceleration. Every car model has progressed to use the non-contact TPS technologies, including hall effect and magnetoresistive sensor instead of the potentiometric type. The contemporary TPS improves quality and durability, the other sensors used in accelerators improve the throttle function in electronics. On balance, the Throttle Position Sensor is essential for the stable functioning of Buick Regal automobiles.

Each OEM Buick Regal Throttle Position Sensor we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Buick Regal Throttle Position Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How do you remove and install the throttle position sensor on the throttle body assembly on Buick Regal?
A: To solve the problem one has to disconnect the thermostat by pulling the connector off the hose, thirdly, you will have to remove the screws, lock washers and retainers and finally take out the throttle position sensor that is mounted on the Throttle Body assembly. If necessary, unscrew also the screw which fixates the actuator to the end of the throttle shaft. For installation make sure that the throttle valve is in its normal closed idle position and fix the throttle position sensor on the throttle body assembly with the sensor pickup lever resting on the upper part of the tang on the throttle actuator lever. Next fit the retainers, screws and the lock washers and apply a thread locking compound on them, but do not tighten the screws at all until adjustments of the throttle position switch is done. Solder three wires on throttle position switch and the three on harness connector, with the ignition switch ON use your digital voltmeter connected to B & C terminals to adjust the TP switch for 0.35 - 0.45 volts. As indicated tighten the mounting screws and once again read through to see that the accuracy of the adjustment is intact. Lastly, shut down the ignition, and take out the jumper cables, reconnect the harness to the (thermostat) throttle position switch.
