How to Remove and Install an Electronic Control Panel?

Disconnect the negative battery cable to remove the A/C switch, remove the instrument panel trim plate(s) in order to acquire access to this switch, take off the attaching screws and pull out the switch far enough for you to be able to unplug its electrical connector. To install, engage the electrical connector, install the attaching screws, install the trim plate(s), connect the negative battery cable (tighten the cable bolt to 11 ft. lbs. (15 Nm)), and reset radio clock and any other relative electronic devices as well.

How to Remove and Install a Control Head?

Disconnect the negative battery cable, remove the hush panel, instrument panel trim plate, and A/C switch attaching screws, then pull the A/C switch out. Unplug the electrical and vacuum connectors at the back of the A/C switch and disconnect the temperature control cable. Position the A/C switch near the mounting location, engage the electrical and vacuum connectors and cables to the back of the A/C switch, connect the temperature control cable, install the A/C switch and attaching screws, instrument panel trim plate, and hush panel, then connect the negative battery cable and tighten the cable bolt to 11 ft. lbs. (15 Nm). Finally, reset the radio, clock and any other applicable electronic devices.

Disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the center panel trim, and A/C switch face screws. Gently pull the assembly for access to connectors. Disconnect all electrical and vacuum links. Remove the A/C switch, feed cables and connections through the dash. Reconnect vacuum and electrical connectors, adjust cables for damper positioning. Install A/C switch screws and replace trim panels in reverse order.
