The Chevrolet Spectrum, a compact car built by Japanese automaker Isuzu from 1974 to 2000, had a diverse identity, being known under various names and GM brands globally. Initially designed with rear-wheel drive, it shifted to front-wheel drive in its later iterations. The Spectrum, based on the T-Car platform, was offered as both a four-door sedan and a two-door coupe. Its initial model had the chassis number PF50, transitioning to PF60 for the 1.8L versions and PFD60 for diesel models. In 1977, the Spectrum received its first minor facelift, introducing a more potent motor in the G180 series and a rectangular headlamp. Notably, the car had an FR configuration, with the engine at the front and drive wheels at the rear - a characteristic design for many vehicles in the 20th century. GM's T-Car platform was integral to the design of this global small car. The early GH10 model had an output of 37.5 hp, later upgraded to 46 hp in the GH12 model. The Spectrum underwent a significant revamp in May 1985, introducing the R-body along with a new line-up, including a 1.5L SOHC carburetor engine and a 1.5L four-cylinder diesel engine. In 1987, the car received a facelift with a more aggressive front end, inverted headlights, and minor changes. The Spectrum, synonymous with versatility, debuted in Europe at the 1987 Geneva Motor Show.
