  Q: How to remove the front and rear bumpers on Cadillac DeVille and DTS?

  A: To remove the front bumper on 1999 DeVille models, start by disabling the airbag system. If needed, raise the front of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Open the hood and remove the air deflector. Then, in the front wheel opening, remove the inner fender splash shield-to-bumper cover fasteners and detach any retaining screws securing the inner fender well extension panels to the bumper. If there are cornering or side marker lamps, disconnect their electrical connectors. Next, remove the fasteners and separate the bumper cover from the fenders. Pull the bumper assembly straight out and away from the vehicle to remove it. To remove the rear bumper, apply the parking brake and raise the rear of the vehicle, supporting it securely on jackstands. Remove the rear wheels and peel back the trunk finishing panels inside the trunk compartment. Remove the nuts and secure the bumper cover. In the wheel wells, remove the bumper cover-to-body bolts. Under the vehicle, remove the retaining nuts securing the bumper to the body. Pull the bumper assembly straight out and away from the vehicle to remove it. The installation process is the reverse of removal for both the front and rear bumpers.
